  6. Life on Planets – The Maze (Logicoma Remix) 04:07 118bpm Emin
  7. Life on Planets – The Maze (Lowheads Remix) 06:42 120bpm Bmin

Baltimore deep house duo and live act Life On Planets return to New York City’s Wolf + Lamb – an imprint that they have fast become a staple on. Releasing The Maze EP close to a year ago now, they have found that it is time to release the remix package – which is fitting really. Featuring several renditions by rising duo Lowheads – an Italian duo grown in the underground scene of the country’s North. All of them are good, but for our money we would bet on their slo-mo and very lo-slung take on “Anatomy”. Elsewhere, we have Palma de Mallorca’s Guri delivering a nu-disco twist on “Man You Need” and the jagged and woozy funk of fellow B-more producer Logicoma’s version of the title track – which is absolute bliss.

Kiwi - Mountains Of Dew DH013D Disco Halal

ARTIST Kiwi
RELEASE TITLE Mountains Of Dew
LABEL Disco Halal
CATALOG DH013D
GENRE Electronica / Downtempo, Deep House, Indie Dance / Nu Disco
QUALITY 320kbps CBR
RELEASE DATE 04/27/2018

3 TRACKS:

  1. Kiwi – Daubenten Bat (Original Mix) 06:45 124bpm C♯maj
  2. Kiwi – Pine Marten (Club Mix) 05:47 122bpm C♯min
  3. Kiwi – Pine Marten (Original Mix) 03:45 102bpm C♯min

It would be fair to say that Alex “Kiwi” Warren is on a roll. Here, he follows up fine releases on Futureboogie, Optimo Music and 17 Steps with a decidedly exotic outing on Disco Halal. In its original form, lead cut “Pine Marten” is something of a bubbly electronic treat, with synthesizer voices, glistening lead guitar and chiming melodies drifting over hissing cymbals and an undulating, slo-mo arpeggio. While more of an ambient excursion than a peak-time treat, Warren has also delivered a stunningly sleazy, Moroder-influenced Club Mix that throbs and pulses in all the right places. To complete a fine EP, Warren looks towards the Middle East on the driving but dreamy hum of “Daubenten Bat”.
