Someone’s House EP by Davide Dev on Toy Tonics
Alphadog is back on Diynamic with a three-track rollercoaster that brings out the rebel you forgot was hiding in there. “Rockstar” kicks the door down — cheeky, loud and straight to the point, with just enough attitude to cause some trouble. “Boogie Up” together with Melodic, flips the mood, bouncing from riff to riff with a playful energy that gets your hips moving before you even realise it. “Stay Close to Me” slows everything down into a hazy, sun-drenched dream, with wandering guitar riffs and that warm feeling of chasing the last bit of daylight. Three tracks, three shades of the same wild spirit – from causing a little chaos to moving without thinking and drifting off into the sunset.
What a treat – US West Coast meets Barcelona on R.A.N.D. territory. A superb EP spanning modern tech house and sophisticated techno with a remix by the very Fantastic Man.
For the fifth release on At A Glance, Shabi delivers a four-track collection of groove-driven house music built for long nights and packed dancefloors. Blending rolling drums, infectious basslines, soulful vocal touches and a deep sense of movement, AAG005 captures the label’s love for timeless club records with a fresh and contemporary edge.
Duality Trax reaches its tenth release with a defining moment for the label, as label boss Holly Lester steps forward with her debut EP. A personal milestone as much as a catalogue marker, the record channels sounds that have shaped her sound to date – early tech house, the low-end swing of UK garage and breakbeat, the rolling pulse of mid-2000s European dancefloors, and the emotional lift of ’90s progressive house – all refracted through a distinctly personal lens.
Rupert Marnie, co-founder of The Press Group and Remoto Records, makes his debut on Smallville with four serious raw and gritty tracks, deeply driving yet bouncy, wobbly at times and definitely with a Curveball-appeal and no compromises.
