Ritter Butzke Records celebrates a major milestone with its 300th release, a compilation that brings together the diverse sound, spirit and community that have shaped the label and its home at Ritter Butzke over the years. From established names and long-standing contributors to residents and emerging artists, the release reflects the open-minded musical identity at the heart of the club and label frlom Berlin. Featuring eleven tracks, the compilation moves freely across the spectrum of contemporary electronic music, embracing different moods, grooves and approaches without being tied to a single sound.
For the fifth release on At A Glance, Shabi delivers a four-track collection of groove-driven house music built for long nights and packed dancefloors. Blending rolling drums, infectious basslines, soulful vocal touches and a deep sense of movement, AAG005 captures the label’s love for timeless club records with a fresh and contemporary edge.
Duality Trax reaches its tenth release with a defining moment for the label, as label boss Holly Lester steps forward with her debut EP. A personal milestone as much as a catalogue marker, the record channels sounds that have shaped her sound to date – early tech house, the low-end swing of UK garage and breakbeat, the rolling pulse of mid-2000s European dancefloors, and the emotional lift of ’90s progressive house – all refracted through a distinctly personal lens.
Timeless, warm and effective house cuts from Berlin’s Daniel Steinberg. ‘It’s a House Thing’ is soulful, uplifting house with an infectious vocal hook. ‘The Coup’ is a jazz-influenced, piano-led instrumental with classic house strings.
